We have just had to deal(on radio only for me luckily) with a horse that was killed in a road crash. 3 horses had got out of their field and whilst we were getting a unit there to round them up one o fthem was sadly hit by a car and killed outright. I had trouble not getting too emotional for a while ..poor horse.Luckily the police officers found the other 2 horses and managed to get them back into the field. I just feel so sorry for that poor owner who had a call at midnight from the landowner to tell them the news.

It must be very difficult for you having to deal with this sort of incident. How sad and what a dreadful shock for the owner and also the car driver.

What a horrible thing to have to deal with I think if I was the landowner, I'd be letting the owner finish their night's sleep and tell them in the morning. Afterall, its not going to change anything.
