I think it was quite common for some breeders Heather and it is something I've been concerned about with D. Not a lot I can do about it now though so hopefully I won't breed an alien! I don't think there are any great grandparents common between Magic and D though.

I'm always so careful that the rams don't go back to their daughters, even down to half grand-daughters!!

When I used to show and breed chinchilla rabbits as a child I was told that it was OK to put a daughter back to her father provided it was a first generation cross and there weren't other relations in the breed line. I never did it - but it was quite common.
