Jodie looks well in her new carriage.
I groom for a friend who has a Bennington, and they are so comfy and smooth - I don't want to get off it.

No competing Alison, we're all getting a bit long in the tooth now! ;D Will do a few shows with her, doesn't involve too much strain on the legs She gets far too exited when she sees cones and obstacles and it worries us that the ligament will go again so nice and sedate for us all I think! They are lovely carriages Mair, so comfy and smooth, we really must keep this one, think it's our 7th Benny!!!

Awwwhhh, how lovely to see Jodie back home with you and in harness again Kim did a lovely job taking good care of her for you. And what a bonus that her ligament was able to heal enough to come back out of retirement She looks beautiful with her new carriage, and Dave's sure looking very well (knock on wood ) I bet you are all happy as clams to be back out and about driving.

It was Polly who went to stay with Kim Debbie, Polly came home when Sprite went to do some work at my friends Does get confusing with all these black hairies doesn't it? So we now have Jodie, Flash the fell (who I'm riding!)and Polly who has a life of luxury doing nothing apart from keeping the others company...very important job that!

You guys look great! The carriage is fab. Nice to see such a great turnout I am sure you will do well with the showing!! How come you have two sets of reins? Are you teaching someone or is this for training?

We started driving Jodie when she was five, she's now 13 and has always been extremely forward going, she would get far too excited doing driving trials and cones and we just couldn't slow her down, she would pull the carriage on her bit and used to get into such a state, tried everything, bit, back checked etc but could find nothing wrong, did a lot of showing, Private driving , pleasure classes but still very fast, had a friend of mine ride her in the school and she said Jodie had a serious problem with her leg ???put her back in her stable and next day she was so lame :ovet came out and said she had a damaged suspensory ligament caused by her very high action and too much hammering her feet down on the roads at this very fast trot, so we've left her for two years and she's now sound which is fantastic, but getting back to the reins ;D ;D ;D we started to longrein her to get her back to work gently and used two sets so we could halt her without using the bit so she didn't get back into the habit of pulling again, worked a treat so we thought we'd carry it on when we drive her but so far haven't needed to use them as she's going really gently now and doing the job properly, bless her! Phew! Sorry for that epic post! ;D ;D

Well done for perservering and finding what works best for Jodie!!! I think a lot of people would have given up and thrown in the towel. I'm so glad the girl's healed so well and is able to come back into work again. You all look so happy together
