I told my husband that I'm contemplating having a go at eventing this spring-- I made a point of telling him "very low-level eventing," that is, Beginner Novice or even Pre-Beginner Novice. Hubby, I should note, is not naturally horsey, although he's picked up a few bits of equestrian knowledge just living with me all this time. Apparently, he didn't hear the part about "very low-level," because next thing I knew, he was on YouTube watching a clip of Olympian Karen O'Connor galloping through the Head of the Lake at Rolex-- his eyes were out on stalks and he gasped, "You're not doing THAT!" I sat down, took the laptop from him and pulled up a Beginner Novice video clip instead-- he gave an audible sigh of relief.
I assured him that even if I were still in the first flush of my youth, I wouldn't have the courage to tackle Rolex, Burghley, or Badminton, so there's no hope of me winning the Grand Slam!

I can't imagine my OH taking enough interest in my horsey chatter to check anything out on u-tube!

At least he's concerned about you....enough to go look up this suspicious 'eventing'. Glad you could allay his fears. And best of luck with your beginner pre-beginner eventing

My oh was the poo clearer for his mother and his sister. He made it super clear he wants nothing to do with horses.
