I have finally got the time to continue Dan's saddle backing. I have 2 months rotation locally, so I get home before dark and am riding him daily again. Lets pray the weather holds up. I start him every day on the long lines. We do flexing exercises, get into the right frame, and then go into the arena to work. We have just started riding with other horses and he is doing brilliantly. I am so proud of him.    |

Thanks. I did not want to ruin my good saddle. That is my every day using saddle. My Ideal saddle is my best, but it has some age to it, and is easily damaged at this point. I bought a new Aussie saddle to use when trekking. We will start that this summer.

Thanks to you both. Dan is 4 in May. Just starting to really be old enough to start any type of work, but still not hard work, just going well. I backed him last fall to get him use to tacking up, having me on and off, and so on, but now it is time to really get him going. His mind is more in the right place now.

You both look great Anna - Dan is doing really well and looks like he's kept his fantastic action under saddle.
I like your Wintec Western too - not too heavy and easty to maintain. Off to google them now!
