I am just on the hunt for some new ones at the moment. I had two webbing ones, with brass rings on the side and they looked nicer than the rope ones, sadly after 10 years one went the worse for wear and the other got the rope bit chewed by one of our dogs.
I see Robinsons have the webbing ones in their catalogue but doubt the rope bit is long enough. It does have a loop handle at the end.
Once mine got to two I started to put them in a leather headcollar for showing, before progressing to a bridle. I found I could not hold them in the ring.

I got mine from this lady www.thehalterlady.supanet.com/I asked for a adult, highland sized rope halter with brass rings, even though it was for my yearling highland filly (with a fine head). Everyone i spoke to recommended this lady, but said, to say it is for an adult, rather than a youngster, other wise the rope is to narrow. I am pleased with mine, so far, only used around home, so she gets use to it, but we will be going of to our first show in just over 2 weeks time, eeeekkkk.
