I had a dressage comp on Sunday, which didn't go well at all. The first test went wrong, particularly once Sparky struck of on the wrong leg on his right rein. The second i was warming up and had the worst hail storm, i was so wet and cold, and been waiting for so long for the second test that i decided to go home. Anyhow i had a jumping lesson today and every time i was on the right rein he managed to strike on the correct leg, it is amazing how he can get the right leg, when he is enjoying himself and knows he can't be unbalanced,

LOL...he has a purpose, so he has to go on the correct leg ;D
You see this with ranch horses, they're taught their 'whoa', but 'whoa' takes on a whole new meaning when that calf hits the end of the rope. Amazing how prompt they can become, rather than being drug all over. ;D

Thanks Heather, great advice. I have tried lots of different things with my instructor, but maybe i have been thinking to much and not thinking head if that makes sense, where jumping i am thinking a head and my position has naturally gone into the correct place.
Will have another good read of your post, before heading into the school next.
