Well, all being well we are definately going to be at the Southern show with our lovely boys. Pete has finally finished the engine work on the lorry and gave it a good test drive today including getting stuck in a traffic jam on the M25, creeping along at 0mph with one eye on the temperature gauge praying it wouldn't overheat LOL. All went well, no overheating, no water leaks, no oil leaks so it looks like we are mobile again at last.
Have sent off our entries today so that is done and all we have got to do now is get the boys tidy, Thor has trashed the top of his tail again rubbing it in the field little horror so no prizes for him me thinks but at least he will be there !! I am just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong between now and then although the way our luck has gone recently I am not betting on it still, I keep expecting something else to go wrong and stop us from being there.
Anyway, as those of you who know me will know already, I am a VERY ample lady and as such cannot buy a proper tweed hacking jacket (nor can afford one after all the money we have spent on the lorry). Have even kept an eagle eye open in the charity shops to no avail. I am therefore in a bit of a quandry as to whether it would be ok to wear black trousers and jacket rather than tweeds. I know it is not exactly correct but at least I would be smart and I have got a nice black jacket that I bought in Evans for the purpose.
Any opinions would be much appreciated and look forward to seeing everyone at the show

There was a lady in a grey skirt-suit with a matching hat at the local Fell Show - she looked very smart. Alright if Thor isn't partial to hats The only thing with you having black legs is that the pony's legs may not stand out as well when you are moving. Good Luck

ROFL at the thought of what would happen if I was showing Thor in a hat !!!!! Fortunately Pete is showing him and I am showing Jack so I might get away with it, although Jack would probably have a massive spook at a hat !!!!!
A skirt suit of some kind would look smart though - hmm, food for thought !!!!!

During the summer, when I did the in hand showing, I just wore a white showing shirt and a nice waistcoat, plus a tie. You will pick a waistcoat up in the mens section no bother, in a charity shop. Quite a few ladies dress like this for in hand showing, and it looks smart. And of course wearing a suit is perfectly acceptable - after all its smart.
To me, its the taking part thats important, and its not you being judged, its your gorgeous ponies.
