Please say hello to our new babe by Raygill William out of Colliery Jemma by Stricklands Jim I'd checked Jemma on Friday, she hadn't made any progress at all from the previous Sunday when I thought she was about a week off foaling.............and look what we found on Satuday morning. As you can see, they were both fine, but foaly was very new. We'd been covering a mare and found our new arrival when taking the mare back out to her paddock, babe hadn't been there earlier. she's all black, apart from her crescent star. We've been through a few names, but I was really taken with one that I'd heard some time ago, and so she is tentatively: FESTIVAL

Congratulations! Glad it was a quick and easy birth even if you did miss it! Festival is simply gorgeous and Mum looks very pleased with herself.

Oooh, I really like the name Festival!! She's such a cutie patootie Love how she's got her ears freshly curled for her photo debut ;D Glad all went well for the foaling, even if you weren't onhand for her. Looks like Jemma's done a superb job.

Babe has got real 'devil ears' at the moment, although they may uncurl as she gets a bit older.
Tommy (R William) has got three extra foals on the ground now, Dawn, Clair's Fitzwilliam Darcy and now this girlie, so that's his lot for this year, but he's still raring to go and looking forward to a productive 2009, the randy old git! ;D He is, I'm ashamed to say, the equine Father Jack.
Anna and Helen thought her star looked like a map of Oz - what do you think?
