A lot of people do take youngsters to the breed show, and travel a considerable distance. I do think it tires them out. I remember taking Molly to the Summer show when she was just 2, and her class was in the afternoon. She was dead on her feet, yet this year, Folly at the same age, seemed absolutely fine - but she did have a little nap behind the trailer.
Our journey is about 3 hours, and then we came back the same day. You are breaking the journey so your youngster will at least have a night before and after the show to rest - although it will be away from home, so it depends on how settled she is, as to how much rest she gets.
Personally, doing it the way you are, I would be quite happy.

I think if you take it nice and steady and you have also said you are going to give her a break i am sure she will be fine. Our yearling has done two longish trips to shows, one we did an over night and the other in a day.
Up until Sunday we had travelled her loose, but she was getting to big and also the weather is now to warm. Wish i had travelled her with the partitions before as she traveled so much better and not at all sweaty, even Sunday day afternoon in the heat.
I have to admit the weather is nice, but i have been bringing them in this week, so Mags can catch up on her sleep over night.
I assume they will do a Yearling class of some sorts that you can do.

I have stayed at Raygills with D for the shows. Joe and I usually stop on a bit as the surrounding area is just soooo lovely. I'm sure you would be fine as you are breaking the journey.

Heather we have taken two of our yearlings to the DPS shows at Barnard Castle. Its ~ 4 hours in the wagon!!!! Both Bess and Ariel have been fine, but we usually stay overnight with friends on the Friday and then again on the Saturday night. We also use a corral for the youngsters as that gives them the chance to lie down if they are really tired!
