I saw this in this months Horse and Rider magazine: www.zilco.com.au/prod/gen/caf.shtmI thought it didn't look too bright an idea... I would think it would risk upsetting a foal much more than just slowly teaching it to use a halter, but then I know ZERO about foals, so maybe it's a genius idea...

I saw this and sorry if i offend but I thought it was just daft!
I can just imagine all the tangles and mess you could get into (and potentially damage foal limbs etc). I'd rather just get the halter on normally and get them used to you by regular consitent handling without restricting and be done with it

I think if your foal was calm enough to let you put that contraption on, there wouldn't be any need for it anyway ! Looks dangerous to me What if the foal reared and fell on the handle thingy

Well I'm glad I wasn't just being short sighted when I thought it was a dangerous bit of kit!!
Don't think that will be going on my list of "potential horsey gifts!!"

sorry, I also think its ridiculous and that if your foal will stand to have that on, you have a well behaved foal anyway!
