Whilst i'm off work with my shoulder i was thinking of reading up on driving and breaking a horse to harness so that i'm all prepared for when my shoulder's fixed in a few months time. The books i was thinking of getting are by Sallie Walrond, ' Breaking a Horse to Harness' and 'Driving a Harness Horse'.
Has anyone read these books before? If so would you recommend them for a complete driving novice? Are there any other books you would recommend instead/as well?
Thanks Ren

I've got a lot of the Sally Walrond books Jay including the breaking a horse to harness one, they are very good.
Tbh the picture guide jobbies are as good as any I've found. Theres two separate series of them, one by Sally Walrond (Threshold pictorial guides) and one by another lady (can't think of its name). I've got both of them and they are great. They sound very basic and they are but very clear and as a novice driver i found them easy to understand too.

I agree with the above advice - the books by Sally are good, for beginners or even more experienced people. Very clear to understand.
