Following on from my narrow girth thread - Im not happy with this puffed up area so iv called for a vet for Monday fingercrossed its something and nothing BUT looking on the net you end thinkg "OH it could be that . . . . . or that . . . . . . or that!" so now believe i have a healthy pony with a nasty evil sarcoid or oedema

owwhh... my brain hurts...so your vet says its now some form of sarcoid? Is that right?? NO, well hopefully not anyway - that was my brain working too hard reading things on the internet. Vet due TODAY at 4.30pm. The area in question is still puffy but not quite so much and a larger area of hair has come off now aling with turning hard & quite scabby to feel - its not nice I REALLY don't want her to have anything nasty

How did it go with the vet? They "THINK" its nothing to worry about but aren't really sure and said it MAY be one of those things we'll never know

How did it go with the vet? They "THINK" its nothing to worry about but aren't really sure and said it MAY be one of those things we'll never know BUT could be / possibly a bite that the girth once sweaty has iritated it and Sian has rubbed it to the extreme causing it to become infected. She's to have anti-biotic powders + anti-bacterial/inflamatory cream for 1 week, in the mean-time she can be lunged and then once medication finished tack her up, work her and wait! IF it flares up im to call them ASAP as there's obviously an underlying problem, but they've no idea what IF her temperature, eating or personality had changed they would look to investigate further but other than having an ugly lump on her side she's "normal"

Glad to hear it is unlikely to be anything serious and hope with the cream and antibiotics she will be back to normal soon.

Lets hope the meds clear it up and it's one of those mystery things that don't pop up again
