First thread I've opened this morning. Thought twice before doing so as I wondered if I really wanted to see lots of photos of yellow poo whilst eating my breakfast!

Cheers Ladies! Handsome Pants (Whose proper name is Vanty, don't know why he got called Pants, but it works for him..."Scaredy-Pants", "Smarty-Pants", etc, etc! ;D ) is 3/4 Welsh Cob x 1/4 Arab, though you wouldn't spot the Arab til he moves then his tail goes up over his back and he really floats! He's my rescue case and if we ever get him riding again he will be amazing! He's also my token brown pony and token Welsh pony (as every black pony owner has to have one, it's the law!!! ) I just thought his colour looked fantastic in the setting sun. He goes paler with highlights and more streaked mane in the summer, his beach bum look. All my lot are interested in the baby but Amy's having none or it! She double barrelled Isaac yesterday as he was standing too close to the fence, got her legs wrapped up in the tape and had to be rescued, thankfully i was there to see how things went on, hence me having to put up a second run of tape to give them a 6' gap so no noses. I felt really sorry for Tim this morning, having had a lovelly day in the sunshine yesterday, birds singing, mummy on tap for his every need, tons of exciting things to do, sleep as and when, today reality dawns! He's had a tube of something nasty tasting shoved in his mouth (kaolin for the poos), the fence now bites (I've had to put the electric on) and it rained on his party so he was wet and shivery when he woke up!!! Utopia over, life's a poo sandwich only today there was more poo than bread! Poor little chap! Amy is still eating for three just incase there's still one left inside! Her mission is to still look pregnant then she might get another year off!! A good plan but I've seen through it! I think I might go back to bed for an hour as I'm shattered! Good job I managed to get the week off work! I take my hat off to all you serious pony breeders, it's hard work!!!

You are right Lucy, it is hard work! And I only got a day off with the first one as the birth was panicky! The second one - the mare retained, so more vets bills etc.
And now the first foal Pollyanna hasn't been well!
You are right, its very stressful!

We don't know what it was, she got a really snotty nose and diarrhoea, so she's been on paste to thicken poo, antibiotics for the respiratory thing and diarlites for dehydration. She is fortunately on the mend, but she has lost all her foal coat from her bottie where the "liquid" has burned her. Good news is she is great and easy to handle as she has had to learn the hard way having all that done to her and her bottie washed daily and smothered in sudocrem. She is a happy foal though and very friendly. It delayed us putting the foals and mums together which is a shame as they all really need the company now and Diana and Lady are calling for each other. Hopefully in a few days she will be properly better and we can turn them all out together, then it will be cameras ready. Diana, Pollyanna's mum is being superb and very tolerant of all that is happening to her little girl and Pollyanna holds no grudges, she comes running to us every time she sees us
