I haven't done a show report in ages it seems, I took my yearling colt, Xabi, to Eggleston show today for a first trip out. He's never done very much apart from play in a field with George so I was expecting explosions but he was really rather good. Once he'd settled and sussed things out he relaxed himself. We have been practising hard this week at getting random strangers picking up feet (its a good job we have a regular flow of horse people coming to use our gallops at the moment  ) but he wasn't really having it today. I was so pleased with him though, other than that he really did everything i asked him and trotted out really well. Stood quietly in line etc etc so so pleased for a first look out. Just a couple of posing pics when he got home as I forgot the camera

Thanks, he was really good I'm just going to do probably one more show with him this year in a few weeks to check yesterday wasn't a fluke and then do some more with him as a 2 year old probably.

Awwhhhh...that really was good for a first try. I'd rather they be patient in line and pass on the whole pick up feet thing, than try to hang on them for the 'airs above ground' ....and hang the feet! What a handsome chap So shiney too! How long did he take to polish up out of the field Anna?

I love that first photo Anna. Well done, sounds like he did really well for his first show. No wonder you are pleased.
