I took Harvey to a local Mini Show Jumping Event today for Teresa (sunny) to ride - I'm far too wimpy to jump myself. I was definately the only nervous one out of the 3 of us - both Teresa and Harvey had a fabulous time! 
Teresa took Harvey round the clear round jumping first, followed by the 50cm class and then the 60cm class. They both enjoyed it more and more as the course got bigger. No placings but we had a brilliant time.
Teresa rode Harvey with just the right balance of encouragement, sympathy and thought so she was able to get the very best out of Harvey. It was a joy to watch.........when I got over my nerves! 
We had a lot of fun watching some of the tiny kids whizzing round on their little ponies - so cute and the ponies really did seem to look after their little jockies.
Sadly the day was marred by one family who abused their pony by bullying it, trying to force it to jump huge fences and whipping it when it refused to jump. They behaved disgracefully in the working in area and I wanted to whip the spoilt brat of a kid herself although it was probably the mother at fault. The poor pony was dripping with sweat from head to tail. In the end Teresa could stand it no longer and reported them to the organisers who came and dealt with the situation. Well done Teresa!
