Cherry has been struggling with her thick coat and sweating buckets at the slightest bit of work, so I thought I would attempt to clip her today. She's not had any experience at all of clippers apart from me turning them on one day last week! She was such a good girl, a bit jumpy but once she realised I wasn't going to kill her (and with a good supply of nuts to hand) she let me do this! I started off with a bib clip, then she was so good I thought I'd do a bit more - then was almost going to do a full clip and changed my mind at the last minute, which is why the blanket clip is a bit far back ;D She's also never had a rug on! The rest of the herd had a mad moment at this vision in purple Gem said 'I'm not scared of it!'

What a star she is! That's a very neat clip, Gill, she looks fab and I bet she feels tons better for it. We clipped Harvey yesterday too and he went into ecstacy for most of the procedure. I bet Cherry was the same once she got used to the noise and feel of the clippers. It must feel wonderful for them. We got mountains of hair off - was Cherry the same? I feel quite guilty to think I was working Harvey hard in such a thick fur coat. lol at the herd reaction to Cherry in her rug. I expect they wondered who this new intruder was. ;D

There wasn't as much hair as I get off Saturn or Dan Pam, but still a fair bit! I've got a riding club lesson this evening so it will be interesting to see how she goes and how much she sweats up ... LOL Leann, she does look rather embarrassed doesn't she . She got a bit spooked by the rustling of the rug as she moved and that made her run around even more ;D

that is brilliant and what a good girl - I wish Joanne would stand still for clipping, she absolutely hates it with an unreasonable amount of dislike! The rug is lovely too - I wonder how long it will remain patterned in the way it was made!

Very smart clip, Gill! I wish Bea's looked like that....LOL
What a good girlie! She's having a very steep learning curve isn't she - but taking it all in her stride. I'm sure it's all down to the confidence building groundwork you did with her in the early days!
