Just wondered what everyone uses who clip there ponies, I have always paid to have mine clipped in the past, but I need Tommy, Merls and possibly Twinkle done, so I think I may invest in a set, I would prefer some that can be used cordless as Merls is such a wuss with the electric cable.

I have a german pair and can't not think for the life of me the make right this second. I have done a good 8-10 full (hairy pony) clips over the last few years so they have well and truely paid for themselves and still on the same blades. These are ones with a cable. Edit to say; my reply isn't really that useful is it, LOL

mine are ones i had of ebay, the blades are Hauptner ones but dont think the clippers are that make, i brought them of ebay for £185 and they have been worth every penny.
i think they were advertised as cow clippers lol thats why they were cheap.
if you clip regular i def think they are worth every penny, i knopw miine have paid for themselfs alreay

I have Avalon Moser cordless clippers - they are VERY quiet. The only problem with cordless ones is they aren't as powerful as electric ones, and I have to get the blade sharpened after each full clip but apart from that they are fab - no maintenance, no tension or setting up etc.

I had some moser Avalons too but i sold them last year. Im going to invest in some more though, misty just ate hay when i clipped her with these and shes a wimp! I did a full clip with them and although not as powerful they coped quite well. The only others i was looking at was the liveryman harmony as they can be used off mains too which i thought may be handy, anyone got any?

Jo, I have the harmony clippers. Can bring them with us when we visit (soon LOL) Have done a full clip of Rosies summer coat with them , but generally do her winter coat in stages. They are very quiet and are the only clippers I can manage one handed (wit my dodgy hands) as the are light and low vibration

Well after alot of dithering and asking lots of advice I treated myslf to a pair of Wolsey clippers at the weekend at YHL there were so many to choose from and it took me a while, but these are very powerful I did,nt fint them too bulky and they were really quiet, plus I had a great deal, I am a very happy bunny.
