I have the semiflex and it is superb but as you say not cheap, and they rarely come up for sale second hand.
Barry Swain saddles are generally very well made and this particular one looks more or less new, although it isn't very wide. Give Barry a call to see if it could be widened and by how much? His number is 01922 646468. It also might be worth asking him if he has any reduced saddles in stock.

I also have the BS semiflex. Mine is supposedly a WH but looks more like a GP. I love it and can't reccommend them highly enough.
That treed saddle on your link looks almost brand new and they really are very well made. My only reservation would be the length (assuming it can be widened enough). 17 1/2" would be too long for Harvey but maybe fine for Jay?

Thanks for the number Gill. I'll give him a call and see what he has available. I'm not looking seriously at the moment, but would like to get something in the next 6 months or so really.
Jay's current saddle is a 17 1/2", but his first one was a 17". He takes a M-W too which I think is very suprising...I expected him to need a wider fitting. When I do finally get him another saddle I'll definitely get a fitter out to make sure its right for him.
I think I'll have to start playing the lottery, or start to save up for a semiflex....everyone seems to really like them!

Thanks Gill...I better sign up to EE! I think an 18" might be too big, but I'll have a look at his 17 1/2" on him tomorrow to see how much space we have. Its a much more reasonable price than i expected

Good luck getting one of these, Ren. I've ridden on Gill's semi-flex and it's lovely! Even when spending hours in the saddle it's comfy and looks really well made.

They just sound ideal for my Jay. He changes shape quite a lot and I do worry about restricting his shoulders, so hopefully it should be the ideal solution for us
