I just thought i would let everyone know that i have just got one of these and they are great! I thought that with us all having flat backed hairies others might have the same saddle slipping problems as me. Iv been trying for ages to find a saddle and pad that would stay still, and now iv got the thorowgood t4 with this numnah under its fab, i even mounted from the ground today out hacking and it never moved and my girth wasnt that tight. The good thing is the numnah is really smart aswell. Definatly worth a try if anyone has saddle slipping issues. Jo xxx

Ooh thanks- had been looking at these. Ozzie's saddle is new and has just been fitted to him but due to his shape and new leather slippiness it can slip- I do have a non slip pad which is fab but isn't all that smart. Will look at one for shows

I do know there are some more expensive ones that are non slip on both sides they are supposed to be really good too but my budget wouldnt stretch to £50! LOL

I have had one of these since I"ve had Magic do to her saddle slipping. I also changed her saddle and had one fitted-a barnsby which is so much better and she doesn"t hardly buck now. A month ago I bought another saddlecloth as they are so good but are difficult to find

Could it be used under a treeless saddle? I find it slips badly when I try to get on or open gates! I use a gel-eeze pad at the moment.
Can I ask how much it cost Jo?

Jane iv just been flicking through old posts and i didnt realise there were more replies on, im useless! LOL So im replying now 3 months on just incase you didnt find out the answers yourself! Mine was £19.95 and i have since upgraded to a barnsby but only as it has prolite bits on, i can honestly say there is no difference in the thorowgood and barnsby as far as slipping goes, on my saddle anyway. Im not sure about treeless but you are welcome to try it Jane if you havent already got one!!

LOL Jo! I might take you up on that and see how it looks with the treeless... I'm always a bit wary of 'normal' numnahs and treeless saddles as they all say you have to use the special ones with the gap for the spine. I would use the thorowgood one under the treeless's own pad.
Any treeless people out there want to comment?

I know what you mean Jane, when I was riding treeless I only ever used the pad that came with the saddle, so like you I would be a little unsure, I can recommend the numnah though we sell quite a few of them in the shop and the comments from our customers are all good.
