I want to get one of these for Digby before the midge season starts, they are a bit exspensive but having tried the sweetich hoody and a couple of other fly rugs last year without a great deal of success I think this is the only road to go down, I,m sure a few of our members have used them, any advice would be appreciated before I take the plunge and order one.

Have you tried the divoza replica? A lot cheaper and looks identical. Material is a bit thinner but didn't seem a problem with Mickey- did the same job as well as his boett ever has. Fly sheets never worked and the hoodydidnt cover enough of him either- saw a huge difference from using the boett.

I had a Boett for Dan, it really did work but unfortunately his was a little too tight for him. He eventually rubbed it to shreds on my barbed wire fencing - funnily not on his mane but underneath his neck where he gets itchy! It's important to make sure that you get the right size. This company make a similar product but at a cheaper price; I think if I get another one again I will try these. Dan didn't seem to rub as much last year, although we've now removed all the barbed wire. www.solva-icelandics.co.uk/sweet1.htm

Hi I bought a Boett for Pea as she always rubs her mane and tail in the summer but it didn't make a huge difference as she still seemed to rub and although the blanket protected her mane it also caused rubbing in the poll and wither area because of the way the rug fits. She also always seemed uncomfortable in it and I found that I had as much protection using Nettex Fly Spray regularly and bringing her in out of the flies before 5pm and keeping her in until 8am the following morning.
