I have flexi stirrups on Oz's saddle and ordinary on Bex's (until I get my new saddle). hacked Bex out today and my knees were pretty stiff and sore after a few miles. Saying that I havent been riding much but I certainly dont feel sore in the flexi's

When my arthritis got bad in my knees I switched to the Herm Sprenger flexible stirrups and had so much less pain. Debbie's right, I use the offset eye ones cause that stops the stirrup leather torquing my sore knees. I tried some that were just hinged at the bottom, but felt unstable.

Just to add iv just bought the wide tread thorowgood stirrups with the shock absorbing tread they are fantastic and only about £17. I was having awful pains in my leg and knees, i did a 15 mile hard going pleasure ride on saturday and not an ache in sight!
