I know its a while away before the winter, but I am going to have 2 horses in a smallish paddock, one being a 2 yr old the other a 4 yr old. I am going to have to feed them more then hay i think as they are both about 13.2 and have a acre, wich is good in the summer as they r both going to be laminitus prone so it restricts their grass, but through the winter is it ok just to feed them on pony nuts? I dont wany anything too pricey, but havnt a clue what to get them, everyone down here uses some funny mixtures btu have older horses, so im not sure!

i would feed ad lib hay. if you feel they "need" pony nuts, theres no harm in feeding them. you could always add a little sugarbeet to their feed when the weather turns very cold and nasty, but they should be fine providing they have plenty of hay and fresh water.
