Worked Cowboy on Saturday. Got him all combed out. Here he is all done up....
(He is wearing a catch rope - Clinton Anderson)
Then we took a walk down the driveway ... The driveway is LONG!
(Notice the pink lead line? - Clinton Anderson)

My mensa pony figured out that he can release the lead rope from the halter! Oops! Thank god he is such a good boy! He just stood there.
Late that afternoon my friends Jeri and Jodi came to see him. Quick background they met and helped me work with Canadale Distintion (Dales Gelding) They kept telling me that Canadale Distintion was going to kill me and he was a horribe pony. He wasn't. He was just young. They are quarter horse people. If it ain't a quarter horse it ain't !?$%
They came in the barn while I was combing his tail out. Two dogs raced in and ran very close to Cowboy. He didn't freak out. They were impressed! I took him to the indoor so they could see him float while he trots. His lead rope was undone. The wild and harry pony.....walked. He stayed close to me but then ventured close to Jeri then checked out Jodi. He met with their approval! "This is the best pony I have seen!" Quote from both of em! Ha.....
On Sunday I took Cowboy into the roundpen. Just a small intro to lunge. He didn't understand with the lunge line. So, I took it off. He responded very well. He floats as he is trotting. OMG....
He got a bit tired as he seemed to really use his mind cause it was all so new. After 10 minutes I decided that he and I had enough. It was too hot and don't want to over do it. Poor boy...he walked 75% of the time and was falling asleep while I was doing his scratching and rub down after.
Each time I work with him I do some of the same things but add something that he would do later. I do not work with him long. One trainer says even working a half hour a day every day consistantly is better than 4 days at an hour. He is my star!
