I'm just back in from cleaning betwixt Blossom's udder. I know she's in season, but this is the first time I've felt her udders slightly swollen.
Blossom's three and a half, due to be four at the end of May. Its normal, right, for the udders to slightly swell during their seasons?? I'm asking because I haven't cleaned her udder since late late November/beginning December, and I didn't notice the swelling back then. Of course, I don't think she was in season when I cleaned it.

She's bagging-up Debbie! Naughty Galahad I have only ever noticed one of my mares udders swell up a little when she was in season and that was Flint, my Percheron. It stopped after she had a foal. I haven't noticed it with any of my Dales but, to be honest, it's not that often I'm underneath them, so I don't know if it's normal or not. Flint had no problems conceiving, so her hormone levels must have been ok. Maybe it varies from horse to horse? I will have to ask Martin - he was always fiddling with Celt's teats She loved it, and maybe he did too I'll be in trouble now when he sees this. Hopefully somebody else will know.

Galahad can't do the deed, and even if he could he's got the opinion of 'not with a bargepole!'. I admit, I did panic a bit this morning because although she was stalled the whole time, or being worked with, she was around a fox trotter stallion and two intact colts. I had a glimmer of ?! Oooh, you'd better not be Missy!

;D Well if she did have a foal, what would the colours be?? All three stallions/colts are palomino.
I'm hoping against hope that its just a mild bit of swelling due to her season. LOL, Lu mine do the same. ;D Like owner like pony I hope.

Our grass is attempting to come through, but hasn't managed it quite yet. But something that might contribute, we've just switched from pure brome to a meadow mix hay....and I've noticed it does have some clover to it. Not a lot, but it might be enough to have made a difference. Thanks for checking Heather
