Today I had the vets out for the usual jabs and teeth. I've noticed both Galahad and Blossom 'cudding'. Blossom's was just general shaping, no worries. When it came to Galahad (23 years), the vet asked how long it had been (last August). He did the count on his fingers, frowned and said Galahad shouldn't need them floated. I insisted. He shrugged and we went ahead. It wasn't til we hit the second side (and the side I knew his cheek was puffy on) that the vet ground to a halt and exclaimed. He'd never seen something like this and wanted us both to see. Somehow Galahad had two very high and very jagged lower molars. They were the worst I've ever seen...looking like little mountains jutting up. I am so glad the vet simply shrugged and went through the motions for me (probably thinking its her money). And I'm so glad that I knew I'd seen Galahad spitting out cuds of partially chewed hay...and that's not like him. In the end, you really do know your pony best. If you're faced with a hesitation and you know otherwise, insist. ....edited to also say, it never hurts to have the outside/unbiased eyes of the vet looking them over.

Lucky Galahad to have such a "tuned in" owner. I agree, we do know our own ponies best and I always go by my gut instincts in situations like this.

I agree, no-one knows your ponies like you as the owner does.
Poor Galahad, he'll be much happier now!

Sounds like Galahad will be much happier now. I agree, that you should trust your instincts.
