How do you all work out you mare's due dates. Different people are telling me different things!

No idea for Dales but my TB mare went exactly 341 days from conception to birth of foal and, at the time, that was my expected date. No idea what "the books" say.

peggy was 27 days early on a straight 11 months meaning she only went 10 months 1 day.al my mares were before the straight 11 month due date except the one i sold in foal who was 3 days after her straight 11 months.

We calculate 340 days after last covering, but start to pay attention from day 300. This year both Lass and Gem were 10 days late and we had monster boys . 2008 - Fi was 5 days early 2007 - Gem was 4 weeks early (and we were on holiday) 2006 - Gem was kindly bang-on with her first foal. So I guess it varies a little Good luck D. Push hard

I have had 3 foalings and all the mares have been earlier than expected. Lady was 14 days early with Melody and 8 days early with Maverick. D was a week early with Pollyanna.

I always work on 11 months and 5 days. They are usually there or thereabout. Binty was a week late this year but she could have took on her last serving so could be right.
