Well, I joked about turning up one day to find she'd foaled and she did! Rather a shock this morning when I went to feed and found her trotting round the field with a little brown foal! Not expected til June, though I suppose the udder filling up was a sign I should have noted more. No sign at all last night, she'd not waxed up or anything, but must have foaled fairly early on in the night as foal dry and cantering around allready. I was running around like a headless chicken , she was still turned out with her friend, I had planned to bring her in and all sorts, but she's just calmly got on with it herself with no problems, luckily. found the afterbirth in the field, all there, foal is sucking and all seems fine. Vet is coming out later to tet jab her. Very relieved nothing went wrong when I wasn't there! Nice little filly, no white, seems to be bay but early days yet.

She's just perfect! What a beautiful little filly!! And her mummy's in such good shape after birthing. What a fab girl to get on with it and no worries, no fuss She'll probably get the bay through her mum's side of grey. Might stay bay, may change grey later, but for now she looks a lovely, lovely bay girlie LOL, I sooo want her! Think Blossom would notice? ;D

Turned her out this morning into the 'nursery field' lots of grass, she's running the legs of her poor mum, as soon as she starts to graze, little one takes off for another gallop and mum has to follow! she's so full of beans! Vet came out to tet jab her but she wasn't amused, didn't want nasty needle in her bottom! he bent 2 needles trying, so I suggested he do her neck, which she agreed to with no problem! finally agreed to name her Coledale May Blossom.

She is a beauty, and what a agreeable mum! Foal watch is knackering to say the least! Congratulations, and I love the name, we had a shetland in the Uk called Blossom.

Poor little girl What a horrid introduction to jabs. At least she didn't mind her neck getting the jab LOVE the name!!! My Blossom says its the best name of all ;D Your little one does indeed look like a May Blossom. Very sweet and very feminine. Our May Blossoms are blooming just now
