Molly has not done much driving for the past 4 summers due to being on holiday with stallions. Just concentrated on riding her when she returned, but this summer we decided to do a couple of shows and see how she went. Only been out a few times over the last couple of weeks at home, and no flat field to practice her driving show, so had to hope for the best on the day.
Big show, on Saturday, lots going on. Plenty of people round the ring too. As groom I stood with the judge while Molly did her individual show. I was holding my breath, praying she would remember what she was doing. She did not let us down. She did a perfect show - pretty much what you do in a ridden class. Her rein back was excellent as was her halt. The only wobble came when she stood on one of those trays you get burgers in that was in the middle of the ring, and did a few steps of canter and a little buck, which the judge spotted.
Judge said he liked our FELL and called her a gelding, but I will forgive him when we got 3rd and £15 prize money.
