Axel at 16 months

Today Axel was meant to be going to his first county show to do the hunter yearling class at Denbigh and Flint. He had his bath last night and we were up at the crack of dawn so that I could plait him. However it all went to pot when the landy broke down on the way! He was such a star being so patient waiting for our lift back.

He was looking so handsome that I couldn't resist taking a few pictures when he was back in his field.

Thanks for all your lovely comments ;D I'm so pleased with how he's developing. He's still on the whole got lovely manners as well, despite still being entire. He did have a bit of a paddy during bathing, which was a little frustrating as he'd had a couple of baths previously without any fuss....but I've been very limited with what I could do with him for the last 5/6 weeks with my leg in plaster so its probably not suprising.

He's currently about 15.2, and seems have deepened in the chest a fair bit recently and generally looking a lot more grown up! I can't believe I've had him 10 months now...time has flown!

Little Archie is an evil weevil...that was him telling Axel off for going on an adventure without him! I'm sure he gets away with so much because he's so small

Ah pooh! I'm sorry you couldn't get to the show. He looks wonderful all spiffed up Very neat plaits! how long does it take to do him up like that?

His plaits took me about half an hour, though I cheated and just used bands because I was running short on time ;D I still need a bit more practice with the plaiting thread!

Archie is a little tinker...he hates missing out on any of the action!

I'm rubbish at plaiting - probably why I'm usually bottom of the line as I don't bother, but I only show for education anyway so we don't mind.

Axel is GORGEOUS! He is going to be one big lad!!
