Been sat on!!!! I brought her up for some work today, planning putting the bridle and saddle on and doing more leaning over her etc, but she was so bored with that she fell asleep! Soooo, it seemed the right time to try swinging a leg over.
No problem! She stood like a rock, didn't hump her back or tense up or anything!!! I was delighted!
Mike was working in the shed so under his eye Elle and I went into the feild by the house and walked up and down int. She had a 'moment' when we turned back towards home and wanted to trot, but came back to walk in a few strides - mainly because her legs were in a knot!! She does really try to listen and do as she's told.
She does wave her head around a lot and open her mouth quite wide and shakes her head a bit, and does a lot of stretching down. I know it's quite normal for youngsters, but has anyone any ideas how to calm it down a bit? I'm frightened I'll yank her mouth when she does it. She's in a full cheek French Link snaffle. She's always chewed it and I think she might be growing teeth but any ideas would be welcomed!
I'm going to try to get a couple of private lessons with her, a friend of mine runs a riding centre and has a superb school. It's be ueful to get someone elses eye and make sure I'm on the right lines with what I'm doing.
Anyway, a few piccies....
''Not quite sure where to put my legs'' says Elle!
"Got it a bit more sorted now"
"See, I can rest a leg and not fall over!"
"Are we going to do something then??"
"Ah, there's Mike, he might have a sweetie for me....
"Here's my other side, my mane is longer than Harley's ha ha!..."
I am so delighted with her, I can't believe she has taken to it all so well!! She has a heart of gold.
