I am pretty sure its part of the Beamish Ag.Show as a whole, they are trying 2 breeds this year to include horses in the show. I think its Dales and possibly Shetlands?
I haven't got a schedule but that was what someone was saying at Reeth so no idea if thats right!. Norma might know more if she sees this?

Yes, thats right Anna. We are going. It is a new Agricultural Show. This year they are holding Dales and Shetland classes but hopefully, if support is good, they are aiming to have a full equine section in future. The Dales classes start at 10.15. There are 7 classes including a Riding and Driving class. The Driving class has to be a pre 1950's vehicle. There are quite a lot of ponies going from what I have been told. Entries close tomorrow. It has been advertised for the last month on Smooth radio so should be quite well attended. There is a discounted entry of £8 to the museum/show for Dales Pony Society members on production of their membership card on Sunday.

It was a lovely day at Beamish so hopefully it will be repeated next year. The number of ponies present was really good and everyone said they had thouroughly enjoyed it. The classes were well supported on the morning and then Charlie Parker gave a logging exhibition. We then had the rest of the day to explore the museum. It was brilliant. We visited the town and the mine on this visit but hopefully will visit the farm and village next time. We bought old fashioned sweets in the sweet shop, had a Beamish pint and pickled egg in the pub before riding the tram to the mine. We actually went into the mine with a guide and it was interesting and shocking to see the conditions our grandparents worked in. I would encourage everyone to go next year, if it goes ahead, and exhibitors got 2 free passes so it is well worth entering. Monty in the Dales classes. He was the only yearling in the 1/2 year olds so we were very pleased with his 3rd place. The rings were like bowling greens and great to run or ride in. The steam in the background was the steam train. It did not bother Monty but Mischief found it a bit scary. She was 3rd in hand and 2nd ridden. A couple of pics in the town. We passed the Agricultural Show on the tram and it looked great. There were pre 1950 exhibits and stalls, police dogs and sheep dogs. I wish we could have stayed longer to see everything but it definitely needs a couple of days to see it all. We went round the museum with Sharon Welford and her dad Jimmy. Jimmy was able to tell us what things were that we did not recognise. It was a fabulous day.
