Change a horses way of going?
I have brought dan a webbing bridle as i never have time to clean my leather one.
well, i have ridden him today for the first time in about 2 months, and he went better than i think he ever has, he was going round like a steam train with what felt like a lovely outline. usually he is a lazy git and it takes me all my time to get him tice in walk never mind in trot
well im wondering is it is the bridle as i have only ever ridden in him a leather one
Or could it be he is now on alfa A light and hemaybe has more energy than when he was on happy hoof
any ideas as he really has gone really nice today considering hes been out of work all winter

It could be a mix of any of those, after a break many of ours go the best as they are fresh to it and keen to get doing something again. Or a webbing bridle may sit slightly differently to the leather, or the diet change means he is feeling really well and forward. I think theres a good bit of spring in the air at teh minute too the way Dylan bronced across the school today, and Annie bounced down the gallops everything is feeling well and fresh and forward. Its lovely though isn't it

I think it's more likely to be that Spring is on its way (and about time too!) My lad, Robin, has also been more forward going since the enforced rest during the snow/ice that lasted for weeks in parts of South Cumbria (which rarely sees any snow)
He hasn't had a change of diet or tack but the last few outings have definitely been livelier than usual.
I noticed he's also starting to shed his winter woollies ... any chance that could make them friskier? (definitely makes him want to scratch and rub - usually on me!) ;D
