I've used Spot on for cattle my vet says taht Flypor is preferable but the spot on worked fine, I just did a google search to find the cheapest place online, but in the end my farmer neighbour gave me some for free ;D

Drummer had them a couple of years ago, it baffled me as to where they came from! Its not very nice stuff but we were advised to use Deosect (sp) and whatever anyone says we did 4 horses with it and none of them minded ot had a reaction or anything!

I've also used Deosect with no adverse reactions. Our miniature shetland gets them most years. I used deosect last year for the first time and its been the best thing I've tried so far

Thankyou all, for your replies . I will try deosect. We have never had lice before but we have just moved on to a new yard and some one told me the horse that had been in the stable before had heel mites, so I dont know if that is where they have come from.

My vet advised me to use Ivomec, used as a wormer and delicer on cattle, though she did stress it is not licenced for use on horses. It did the trick though.
