I've been thinking about what I hope to get out of the camp - apart from OUTSTANDING company and EXCELLENT food and drink! LOL
I would really like to get jumping confidently and work on encouraging Bea not to hollow through transitions. I'm sure it's something I'm doing - or a riding school habit he's developed - but would like to know how to help him through change of pace.
I'd love to be confident enough to jump Bea up to 60cm as a starter, although my aim is to do a 70cm course. He loves jumping and I wish I could share his enthusiasm!
Anyone else prepared to share their hopes, dreams and/or aims?

Id like to be more balanced with dan, i have a real weak side since i hurt my back 3 years ago and i find riding uncomfy sometimes mainly my left ankle. id like to be more confident jumping too and be brave enough to canter to the jumps rather than trot. I remember doing a cross country with dan about 6 years ago, i trotted at the first 5 or 6 then my confince just grew and i was cantering at the others with out even thinking! i have never done it since! most of all i cant wait to see and meet my dalesfans friends again

I want to get Remy's head position more consistent, instead of her ears shooting up my nostrils at every change of pace . Also improve her steering, stop her hollowing in trot and get her more responsive to my leg, maybe a bit of lateral stuff.

It looks like there are some common threads here - that's really good because it means we can watch each other's lessons and learn loads from them as well as our own.
All we need is a fine weekend - dry and warm, but not too burny hot or I shall turn into a lobster.

Ahhh my aims are a lot lot more basic (and yes Tilly and I will be coming to shatter your peace and quiet mwhahahaha).
I just need to get back into riding - I've sat on Tilly maybe half a dozen times since last September and not at all since January. So I need to get my enthusiasm and passion for riding back. And I'm COMPLETELY unfit so won't be able to do anything too energetic!!!
I'd like to work on my poisition (I tend to sit like some 19th Century huntsman (chair seat alert!!!) and also my hands (poor old Tilly has to put up with me hauling away when I don't pay attention).

Good to hear you are going to the camp, after all Olivia. I am sure you will really enjoy it - whatever you feel able to do while there. One thing is for sure - Tilly will look after you

Absolutely Mair It'll be a shock to her system though - she's had six months of being a happy hacker and I don't think she's going to be impressed when I start taking her in the school again

When I do actually manage to create some impulsion I'm not sure how to contain it in my hands. I would like to be able to feel and understand what a consistent head carriage and roundness feels like and be able to achieve it without someone there instructing me.
If time - I'd like to carry on working on my canter position and feeling secure at the faster paces too.

Not sure about Lu- probably to improve his canter if possible as its still quite babyish and onward bound. His trot work has come on loads.

I've had another thunk about this. If any jumping happens I would also like to work on my confidence in letting her canter into a fence. Having spent all last summer working on getting her calm into a fence, I still am not brave enough to let her canter. I know the jump itself would be much nicer if I allowed her to go - but I keep on bottling it.
