I took some photos of the fillies yesterday as it's coming up to their first birthday This is Dodi (Maidendale Crescendo by Raygill William x M. Serenade) and Za, with the pink halter (M. Cadenza by Colliery Bill II x Broscoe Katie) it was a bit difficult to get anything decent, because they wouldn't stand still, but here's one of Dodi they just wanted to play! and run about and buck and leap and have fun ;D

I love seeing foals playing together and that's a great "play area" you have for them. Like Pam says, I could do with one of those too Any pics of the boy gang?

Thanks for all your lovely comments, these girls give me so much fun. I'll try and get the boys next weekend.
the hardstanding is the road round the buildings in our yard. We overwinter in these buildings, there's a big shed (100' long with a sand floor over the concrete base) for use as an indoor school when needed and 4 smaller ones adjoining it. The smaller sheds are each 25' x 50', gated front and back and we house the ponies in groups here. The far side of the road is permanently fenced, but we have electric tape going across at each shed boundary. We can split it into 4 separate yards or one big one, although it's usually 1 big one and ponies out 1 group at a time. We keep the fencer well-charged and the ponies are very respectful of the tape, even the babies (who are always introduced with their mums first of all).
when they're all back inside, the tape is very easily put away and the yard can be a road again.

Now that's a very clever way of doing it Maggie. I wish Blossom were half as respectful of electric fencing. She knows the nanosecond its down, and even when my fence charger is going full bore, she'll still test it. I've seen her go blasting across the field many a time, and still she'll go back. The greenery on the other side is too tempting Ahhhh, look at how gorgeous your little girls are! I love that they get to play with each other. All the joys of life, bucking and bounding about
