I had friends round for dinner last night and did this recipe - it's absolutely fantastic!! I used shin of beef - £3.50 for just over 1kg. When I was preparing it I was a bit worried because the beef shin looked so marbled with sinew and connective tissue, but this all cooked away and made the gravy really thick and delicious.
Be warned - it uses a whole bottle of red wine!! LOL
Starter - asparagus with seared scallops and hollandaise sauce Main- Boeuf Bourguinon with garlic mash, roasted chantennay carrots and green beans with almonds. Pud - Leann's American Raspberry cake with greek yoghurt or cream. Cheese and biscuits.
