Not for a Dales, but a 14.2hh cob. He really does need a 7" bit, ideally an eggbut snaffle. Currently in a loose-ring with rubber guards, but he's not keen and I think the edges of the rubber irritate his face. All online stockists just don't go this wide - any second-hand stuff available, or can you recommend a good stockist?

Have you tried Neue Shule - it's where I get Tilly's ENOURMOUS bits from  although she's not quite a 7" |

My friend got her shires bit from oakfield saddlery they do have an online store but worth calling them and they will order you one. They are very reasonably priced too.
