I was wondering if anyone has problems with wolfteeth. Do you usually get them pulled? Our dentist said that they usually don't get in the way, but i'm thinking that they might be bothering one of my geldings. How far above the bit are the last teeth supposed to be?

If you think they are bothering its probably worth having them removed, it isn't actually that big a deal to have them done. We don't tend too as a rule as don't find they bother most, Dylan had his out the other day as he had a blind canine coming through that needed sorting and whilst he was out for that, the vet suggested we just remove them now whilst we were doing things. To be honest, hasn't made a blind bit of difference when it comes to riding but at least they won't in the future.

I've always found that at some stage they become a problem. When that happens I've had them taken out. It's straightforward.

We have had two ponies who had to have them removed because of problems, so we do take them out as a matter of course now as a preventative measure. They have never been a problem to remove, its not a big op or anything like that!
