I was curios as to why it allways seems that loose-ring snaffles are in the dressage ring, even when many other cheeks are alowed.

Loose ring snaffles tend to be popular over here in the dressage ring - I ride Harvey in a loose ring KK lozenge. I think they encourage the horse to mouth softly and allow independent action. I guess it is a case of what your horse prefers. Why do you think Loose rings shouldn't be allowed? I do think some of the DG rules over here are daft though.

O no, I don't think that loose rings shouldn't be allowed, did I make it sound like that? I really never see anything but loose rings in the dressage ring and was wondering why. we have both egg butt and loose rings for our horses, and yes I agree with you Pam, some of the rules are daft. I think that the loose rings do allow more play.I also use the kk bits, the horses love them. I really just wrote that because I was bored, curios to see what people would say. ;D
