I know that you don't do any sugaring over in England, but does anyone know of a sutible type of sled, it would be goin on the snow and on a packed trail( my brother just got a snowmobile so he can pack trails now !) it would have to hold a tank, nothing to big though. and perferable able to hold the driver. if anyone knows of something I would appreciate a pic or two cuz we will be building the sled.

Chloe, I would try emailing Ken Raspotnik (President of the DPSA) : Ken@Raspotnikfarm.com He uses a simple homemade sled with his Fjords and Dales for all sorts of things, including collecting maple syrup (presume that's what you call "sugaring"?) and for breaking youngsters. I'm sure he'd give you loads of good advice This is a picture of Raspotnik Bracken with the maple syrup sledge taken from Ken's website. Is that what you have in mind? ..and another with Fjord stallion Eitan : Let us know how you get on. I love to see Dales working!

That looks fantastic!
Chloe - what an exciting life you lead! Is sugaring collecting maple syrup as Helen suggests?

ya it's for maple sugaring, sorry if i cuased any confusion, we just say sugarin here. the syrup is the finish product after most of the water has been boiled out. Helen- thanks for the pics, it looks like it would work well, not to heavy either.... over in England do you make any sort of syrup? down in Georgia they make syrup out of sugar cane.
