I do a lot of walking in the mountains and usually wear a thermal base layer, a fleece, and a fleece lined jacket. Then find as I get hot walking up the hills I have too many layers. I bought this fleece in a half price sale www.rohan.co.uk/Product/Detail/WomensFleecesAndKnitwear_02657and have tried it twice in the Welsh hills where the wind almost blew me over and it was FREEZING . It was amazingly windproof, even with just one thermal layer on underneath it. It's also very light so if you want to take it off it would easily fold up small into a rucksack. Only downside is it's not waterproof, but I have a lightweight fully waterproof coat that folds up small so it's not a problem.

I saw that in the sale and nearly bought one. Wish I had now. I like a lot of their gear.

We have a Rohan shop just opened in Shrewsbury Pam, and there was quite a lot of stuff on sale (although I get most of mine online as the shops never have the sizes you want!). I got quite a bit of stuff in their recent sale, but some (like this fleece) sold out quickly. I wouldn't pay the full price for anything though it is rather expensive! I love the Strider trousers ;D
