Have a sensitive digestive system? Happy's manure gets very soft really easily, for example,if I give him one apple when he's not used to getting them, or if he starts getting a little exited because he does more cantering than usual. I just really don't know what to make of it.

Yes Dan and Cherry nearly always have 'sloppy' poos, the others are all firm!

Robin's droppings only get soft or sloppy if he's been grazing on very wet grass following heavy rain, otherwise he's usually fine.
He's routinely been fed a balancer (Top Spec Lite) until the start of winter when I switched him to Top Spec Anti Lam as the grazing I moved him onto was very long and stalky which apparently can be just as much of a laminitis risk as spring grass.
I may be wrong but could it be a surge of adrenalin that causes the 'runniness' during/after longer spells of cantering? I had a mare who was like that when she got over-excited.

most of ours can eat anything at all with no problems, but Doris used to get a bit sloppy after travelling/competing which I put down to general excitement ;D

I think this could be very likely, I have knew a couple of horses, who would get very sloppy, when they were just getting plaited up to go hunting, they knew plaiting would mean they were galloping like mad in a short time.
