Liver results came back today and his liver is back to normal ............................................................................................... I wont have the re run of the liver tests until tomorrow, so we will know then if the milk thistle has helped, but his skin issues and breathing problems are actually allergy related. And yes, I have a pony that is allergic to GRASS We dont know if it is the pollen in the grass or the grass itself. In addition he is allergic to tree pollen from Birch, Alder and something else (Cant remember)and the weed, plantain. Vet isnt sure what tiped him over the edge. It could have been smething unrelated such as the huge increase in rapeseed in the area he is now kept in(a different county to last sumer) He has had a steroid injection on Fridayas his windpipe was still noisy, and he has to have inhalers daily for the rest of his life(one to open the airway and a steroid one). His coat is now returning to normal as I have been given the ok to feed a bit of oil, which has helped, so I think the liver issue is also getting better, and we can hopefully begin the long, slow return to some form of fitness. He has been an absolute star all the way through treatment and the constant blood tests and the scoping have been intrusive, but his behaviour has been excellent. I really hope we get some summer riding in as the weather down here continues to be hot and sunny.

Oh bless his cottons for being such a good boy for all the treatments. It sounds like a good step forward to know what you're dealing with and having a good treatment plan in place. Here's to lots of summer riding for you both.

Good that you've got some definative answers a last and I'm really glad that his coat is returning to normal. Harvey's is too. Will they be able to find out whether it is the grass pollen or grass itself he is allergic to? What a star Sigs is for taking all the intrusive investigations in his stride. So glad you have turned the corner.

Poor Sigs, he's had a tough time. Hopefully you're getting back on an even keel now and can move forward from here - and enjoy those summer rides!
