Fly Spray - recommendations?

The horse flies are out in force here and my usual fly spray seems to have no effect whatsoever.


Can anyone recommend anything please before my poor ponies are bitten to death?

We have a terrible problem here with midges and flies..this one seems to be the only one that seems effective in this area in my mind. There is a gel and wipes too

The horseflies are dreadful at teh moment here too. I've tried all sorts but nothing seems to deter them. In fact they seem to home in on Harvey and leave Dolly when we are out together!

The other evening Buzz who lives in field let out a squeal and galloped flat out from the top of the field into the field shelter...I'm sure it must have been a horse fly as I then sprayed him with the repellent and when I checked on him 30 mins later he was outside grazing again.

I think I have tried them all (and spent a small fortune!) in the past - I'm not sure any of them really work. In fact some of them seem to attact MORE flies! I don't know what the answer is I'm afraid.
