Sorry to hear this Pam, I think that Harvey's problems are almost certainly due to his 'mounting' episodes, using muscles he doesn't normally use, lol! And at his age too! My little Exmoor Toby has always minded his own business, never getting involved in any punch ups with the others . However this year Remy has been coming very strongly into season, and, well how shall I put it, at the age of 19 Toby has a new lease of life!! Except he's 11.3hh and she's 15.3hh!!! I hope Harvey is okay

Harvey is still besotted with Dolly and has this confused look on his face as though he doesn't understand what his body is doing. I was a bit worried he would try and climb the stable wall to get to her but thankfully he hasn't thought of that one yet.

LOL, poor guy, sounds like he put his back out over the pelvic region. That funny positioning with the leg up under and then the 'pop' would have been the vertebrae going back in as it should. Feel his spine starting in front of the pelvis and continue through to the tail. You should be able to find each and every vertebrae as you go along. Simply feel if any others might be out of place. I shiatsu'd a pony back in Feb that had been under a vet's care for 8 months and was shocked to the core when I felt her spine. I've never seen a back so badly out of place, and I was livid the vet didn't check for it. A good physio would definitely be a good route. There's more than the obvious that gets tweaked out of place when ponies start 'horsing around'

Poor Harvey! You must be so worried Pam. I heard about this at the TREC comp on Saturday and thought it looked jolly interesting where a simple diagnosis isn't indicated. There was a story of horse lame for ages and vets scratching their heads over it. In desperation the owner had a thermal scan done which showed up the site of the injury and meant the vets could target the treatment. Horse is now out competing again! www.veterinary-thermal-imaging.com
