My beautiful big tabby cat Gremlin was knocked down and killed on the road outside our house today. Steve heard the squeal of brakes and a thud and saw him in the road but he was dead by the time he got there. The driver didn't stop. Grem was only seven. He had the loudest purr and loved being cuddled. He would walk in front of you tripping you up until you picked him up. If you were standing still he would put his paws on the top of your leg and if not picked up quickly he would climb up, not recommended with a 6kg cat! I miss him so much.   |

So sorry Lucy - I remember Gremlin from when I visited. Well, you could hardly miss him, being so large. Its not as if you live next to a major road, is it - but our lane is full of boy racers, and my farm cats, and the kittens, seem to enjoy playing chicken, and it fills me with dread.

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments.
I found some pics in my camera of him inspecting the hay shed to see how well we'd stacked it!
I keep "seeing" him (only it's not him) as he has two very similar looking sisters and it tugs my heart every time.
I got 6 of them at 4 weeks old as their feral mother had been killed on the road, they were hand reared. So they wouldn't have survived at all if I'd not found them. 2 black ones got rehomed together and I kept the rest as I couldn't make my mind up which ones to keep!
At least it was a quick and clean end for him.
