Well, it's been a difficult few weeks with Harley, he didn't like the diet I had him on, so I did loads of research and have got him on Winergy Low, AlfaA-Oil, NAF Omega Oil with supplements, and at last he seems to be a bit brighter in his outlook. I took him for a short walk in-hand up the road yesterday and he was happy to be out. When we got back I let him go but he didn't want to go away, he stayed and bugged me - he hasn't done that since August . After we'd palyed a bit he chased Apollo round for a while too, so he's obviously feeling quite a bit more energetic than he has been. On the downside, he's lost his shoulder muscles completely, and his rump and haunches are very poor. He's rugged and still eating nearly 2kg of feed per day (previous years he's been on half a kg so a big difference!). BUT I do feel we've maybe turned a small corner, and we'll just have to see how it goes from here.

I really hope that this is the start of Harley's recovery and he begins to put some weight back on quickly.

Really pleased that Harley is improving and wanting to play. Hope the alfa-a oil and the other stuff do the trick,

well that he wants to play is good. So if he lokes his diet and stays ok on it then maybe you are now on a winner.
Goodluck and keep us all posted.
Merry christmas

So glad for you Jane that he's happier with his new diet & feeling a bit more lively. Winter's such a tough time to try to put weight on them, but I hope he does manage to pick up some weight for you. Hang in there Harley!

That sounds like good news Jane - when they have dropped off to such a degree it will take a while to get that condition back on again. It took Remy AGES to gain the condition she lost over winter, it wasn't till about June she started to look alright. Maybe once spring has arrived and the new grass comes through it will make a big difference?

Grass is another problem - EPSM horses can't always cope with the sugars!
