If I'm in the jeep he could go in the back of it Valerie, there's a good dog guard and he can't do any damage - assuming I can get there.

I hope someone will be kind enough to swap with you Valerie and that doing so won't mess up your body clock too much. I'd love to see you there.

I'm coming through so I hope it's going ahead No idea of venue as I don't know Edinburgh at all but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants near the train station. could one of the more local people suggest somewhere?

I'm not going to make it I'm afraid - we've got too much going on at home at the weekends at the moment and will be scanning cows and sheep that weekend.
Have a great time!!

I'm sad Jane and Valerie can't make it but I think a few of us still can.
I have something that I'd like to be back in Glasgow for just after 3pm on the 11th which means catching the 2:15'ish train away. I'll possibly come through a bit earlier, aiming to reach Edinburgh around 10:30 so could meet up with anyone else who is around then.
I'll also ask around and see if I can get some recommendations for restaurants near the train station where we could meet.
Is 12 noon OK for most people for lunch?

I'm still available too. How about Tempus, 25 George St. EH2 2PA. www.tempus-edinburgh.co.uk/Close to the station (ok, it is up a hill....). See what you think - I'm happy to go with other suggestions... looking forward to meeting you all

Looks good, I wondered about something like a slug and lettuce type place www.slugandlettuce.co.uk/edinburgh/or even what about a cafe type place in one of the museums? Its been a while since I've been to edinburgh but i'm sure there were some places to eat around there you could meet casually in. I guess we need a venue that is happy to let us stay for a while so everyone can drop in at different times and meet up. I wonder given everyones requirement if we should aim to meet from 12 but for about 12.30pm which should give plenty of time for everyone to meet, eat and then get various trains out again and also allow time for newbie to catch up with us at 1pm when you get in? Shall I book a table somewhere? If so, can everyone confirm before Sunday/Monday who is coming and who isn't and where you'd like to go and I'll make a rough booking. I'll order mine and Mums train tickets in the next couple of days, I guess we'll probably make the most of the day as we don't get many days off and get in at a good time and have a wander around the shops or museums before/after lunch so happy to meet up whenever!
