I've been reading about Heather Moffett's new saddle, the FlexEE, with a flexible leather tree. Has anyone else read about it/going to try one? They will only initially be available in synthetic, but will eventually be available in leather.
My dream saddle has always been a Barrie Swain Semiflex WH but its always been beyond my price range and they don't seem to come up second hand very often, but it seems the FlexEE might be a more realistic option.
I think once I'm riding again next summer I'll arrange to try one and see what they're like. But if anyone tries one in the mean time can you let me know what you think? Thanks

I sat on one at YHL last November. I think they are very good value for money however I didn't find it that comfortable to sit on and it sat me wider than the Vogue saddle but it could have been the stand it was sat on.

That's good to know, thanks Pam. Shame...I've become accustomed to 'bottom' comfort after getting Jay's Easisit. Bryan seems to change shape so quickly I was hoping one of these might be a solution

It wasn't uncomfortable compared to many saddles, it just wasn't as comfortable as the Vogue and it did seem to sit me wide. But I think it could be the answer for horses at the age where they change shape a lot. I expect they will be available for trial next year so worth considering.

Hello! I am hoping to get a Vogue for my new horse. If anyone has tried one on a Dales, do they find it prone to slipping back because of the girth position? We are in quite a hilly area and I don't fancy being sat on her bum going up hill! I know it would be possible to use a breast plate if there are D rings fixed. my HM tutor has mentioned the new saddles and is going to keep me posted as to when they come out so if I get to try one, I'll let you know.

If advise a good trial before buying a Vogue. I tried two HM saddles on my mare as she goes really well in a bareback pad and isn't keen on any of the tree'd saddles we tried. She hated the HM saddles and, after just five minutes of stilted walking an ears laid back, when I asked for trot she told me she really didn't like them by bucking and trying to bite me leg and the saddle.
She's been fine in a WOW saddle with flocked panels rather than air although I'm now trying to buy a second hand Solutions treeless saddle as she goes as well in this as in her bareback pad and I'm now using the WOW on my ever shape changing youngsters.
I also found the Phoenix saddle gave me bruises as well as it's so hard and uncomfortable to sit on.
Others on here have used them with a lot more success than me so they can work for Dales but I'd definitely try before you buy.
